Chris Evans is open to be Marvel Studios' first Avenger after the studios' Phase Three.
Evans' contract with the studio will expire soon, though he is also reported to appear in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Avengers: Infinity War." In his interview with Collider, Evans expressed his interest to continue working with Marvel Studios should the latter be interested on him to play his iconic character Captain America.
Along with his impressive resume, Evans also mentioned that Marvel Studios was capable of making high-quality movies, even while asleep. For the actor, landing a role on a Marvel is like a "playground," along with brilliant directors, producers, scripts, and other actors.
Previous reports revealed that while Evans considers returning as Captain America, he also has intentions on focusing his directorial career. Also, some fans have speculated that if Captain America is killed in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, then the title will be passed to his teammates Bucky Barnes or Sam Wilson.
According to Cinema Blend, Evans has made his mark in Marvel's Cinematic Universe as Captain America, though he previously played Johnny Storm/ The Human Torch in Tim Story's 2005 "Fantastic Four." While the actor's contract will end soon, his interest on return as the star-spangled Avenger will let fans see him again sometime in the future.
Evans will be seen in drama film "Before We Go," which he directed, and in the Russos' upcoming Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War," which centers on the release of the superhero registration act or the "accords." The act creates fission between Captain America, who does not favor the law, and Iron Man, who is in favor of the act.
Directed by the Russos, "Captain America: Civil War" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6, 2016. Watch Evans' interview here:
