It has been an intriguing mid-season finale for "Suits" season 5, and executive producer Aaron Korsh revealed what fans should expect when the show comes back in the course of 2016.
The previous episode of "Suits" season 5 saw Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) being arrested for fraud after he practiced law without credentials in the field. Fans and members of the press have been left wondering what could happen to Ross and Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), his mentor that had just quit from the Pearson Specter Litt company to save it from being taken over by antagonistic associates.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Korsh indicated that Ross' arrest will have serious consequences for every individual in the company, and not just Specter. Among the repercussions is the sour relationship that will develop between Ross and Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle).
Korsh said, "It remains to be seen how they will respond to it. It will give them an opportunity to understand conflict but also to be there for each other...I am not 100 percent sure what the ultimate fate of the relationship in these last six is going to be."
Meanwhile, Specter will not be having a romantic relationship in the subsequent six episodes of season 5, although the producer acknowledged that Specter had progressed with his psychiatric therapy with Dr. Paula Agard, TVLine reported.
The showrunner said that in the event Ross had not been arrested, Specter's progress would come to surface even the more. However, Specter will be too preoccupied mending things after Ross' arrest to the extent that he will not have time for a romantic relationship.
Korsh added, "But in the six remaining episodes of the season, he's going to be in a crisis mode...rather than looking to pursue a healthy relationship moving forward."
There is no official date for the return of "Suits" season 5, but the series is supposed to come back on the USA network early next year.
