"The Class of 92" actor David Beckham has been reported to play super spy 007 James Bond.
According to Daily Star, Beckham was encouraged by fans to play the iconic super spy role. The actor also mentioned that he was strong-minded to make it as an actor and know what lies ahead. Beckham also said that he knew that a number of athletes and celebrities had shifted their careers to acting and did not succeed. For the actor, he wants to shape his experience and see where fate lands him.
Meanwhile, Beckham is not the only actor who has expressed his desire in playing the iconic spy role.
Previously, "X-Men" actor Hugh Jackman revealed that he would intently consider taking over the Bond's cloak in a film. He said that he was initially tapped by the producers of Sam Mendes' action thriller film "Spectre" to play the role, but he refused since he was committed to play the role "Wolverine" for the last time in James Mangold's upcoming "Wolverine" sequel.
Daniel Craig is playing Bond's role in Mendes' upcoming "Spectre." Recently, the actor said that he had a life and it was time for him to start living it, which suggests that he might take off his tuxedo and pass the role to someone else. According to Cinema Blend, Craig has reportedly an open contract as Bond, which means that Beckham or Jackman could land the role should he drop playing super spy 007.
Aside from Benjamin Turner and Gabe Turner's sports documentary "The Class of 92," Beckham is also known for his role in Guy Ritchie's action adventure film "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." He is set to appear in Ritchie's upcoming action adventure film "Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur."
Ritchie's "Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur" is slated to premiere in theaters on July 22, 2016 while Mendes' "Spectre" is set to hit theaters on Nov. 6.
