Baranski said, "Alicia is, of course, not running for office, but having a great deal of ambivalence about having to be the wife of the man that's running."

She added that as the major character tries to move on after a scandal that saw her lose the position as a state attorney, Alicia will concentrate on serving the law from a different angle. Alicia really loving the law and it begins with her in bond court. Similarly, good old Lockhart Agos Lee, as it is currently referred to, has its share of internal conflict.

Dishing on possible new shifts in the next season, Baranski also said that Louis Canning will always be lurking in the shadow and apparently planning to wreak havoc although it is rumored that he will assist Alicia as part of her new team.

After Matthew Goode and Archie Panjabi left the show, new characters will feature in the next season including Peter Gallagher, Cush Jumbo, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Margo Martindale.

In other news, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is a big fan of the show. According to one of her e-mails dated 2010 with the subject "Happy New Year!" Clinton was asking her assistant to look for the airtime of "The Good Wife" and "Parks and Recreation," AV Club reported.

The publication added that the plot may have echoed her and indicates that it is fascinating that the next season will have the character of Peter going against her onscreen version.

"The Good Wife" season 7 debuts on Oct. 4.
