Harley Quinn's co-creator Paul Dini has shared his thoughts on Margot Robbie's take on the villain in David Ayer's upcoming DC Comics film "Suicide Squad."

In his interview with Shanlian On Batman podcast, Dini said that he loved Robbie's look as Harley Quinn in Ayer's forthcoming film, though it was jolting to a lot of fans who love the classic Bruce Timm suit. While Robbie sports a "rougher" and "more street" Harley Quinn look, Dini also mentioned that the suit worked fine, suggesting that it blended with the character's personality.

In addition to Harley Quinn's suit in Ayer's film, Dini also said that he was very pleased in Robbie's take on the villain. For the character's co-creator, Robbie is a very nice, brilliant, striking, and talented actress that he was very thrilled to see the actress as Harley Quinn in the big screen.

Dini's reaction to Harley Quinn's cinematic look is parallel with the feedback of his co-creator Timm. On his interview with Polygon on May 4, Timm said that Robbie looked pretty cute when he first saw the actress in her Harley Quinn costume in Ayer's film. For Timm, she was very open and excited to see other people's take on the character he and Dini created.

Robbie is set to play Harley Quinn in Ayer's "Suicide Sqaud" and reports previously said that her character's origin will be one of the main emphases of the film. Robbie joins Jared Leto, Will Smith, Karen Fukuhara, Joel Kinnaman, Scott Eastwood, Alex Meraz, Ike Barinholtz, Jay Hernandez, Common, Adam Beach, Viola Davis, and Ike barinholtz, among others.

Ayer's "Suicide Squad" is slated to premiere in theaters on Aug. 5, 2016. Watch the "Suicide Squad" trailer here:
