Despite having many detractors of its Fire Phone, Amazon succeeded to sell all its stocks. It took around one year for the giant ecommerce business until exhausted its supply. Customers checking the product's page the device will find that the Fire Phone is listed now as "currently unavailable,"

An additional note on the listing is stating that Amazon doesn't know when the item will be back in stock. Both models of Fire Phone with 32GB and 64GB storage space are in the same situation.

A spokeswoman for Amazon confirmed that all its inventory of Fire Phones is sold out in the United States and globally at the end of August, according to Geekwire.

For a phone that received many critics from tech and market analysts alike this is pretty impressive. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that consumers received the Fire Phone better than some analysts expected.

According to IT World, it is unlikely that the Fire Phone to make its reappearance, since Amazon seems to not have any plans to manufacture it anymore. The giant ecommerce company stopped the production of the Fire Phone in preparation to launch a cheap 6-inch tablet with a price tag of only $50.

Amazon presented his smartphone for the first time at the launch event in July 2014. The phone features a service called Firefly for searching phone numbers, books, songs, DVDs and more.

A spokesman for Amazon declared in Oct. 2014 that the $83 million worth of Fire Phone inventory was sold at the end of the third quarter. The Amazon smartphone came at launch with a price of $649 without a contract and $199 in a bundle with an AT&T service agreement for two years.

The explanation for the latest fast sales of the Amazon smartphone is the fact that the online retailer dropped the price of the phone only 99 cents with a two-year AT&T wireless contract. Furthermore, this summer the cost of the Fire Phone came down to $60 without a contract, including a free year service on Amazon Prime valued at $99.

With this kind of big discounts it is not surprising that Amazon has been successful to increase sales significantly. The phone went out of stock on the Amazon website by the end of the summer.
