Aussie actress, Essie Davis, who was until now known as the star of the 2014 horror film "The Babadook," is said to have joined the ever-growing cast of "Game Of Thrones" season 6.

The 45-year-old actress is likely to play the member of a travelling theatre troupe in Braavos, which stages a satirical play titled "The Bloody Hand." She will be playing her age as she is playing the role of a fun loving, charismatic, rum-drinking actress in the troupe who is in her early 40s.

The play-within-the-show will poke fun at the world of Westeros in the upcoming season when the Davis' character satire will not go down well with the touchy aristocrat as she will be shown mocking the debauchery of Lena Headey's Queen Cersei, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

The theatre troupe also finds mention in the highly anticipated book "The Winds Of Winter," the sixth George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" cycle, where it is described that the group's play "The Bloody Hand" shows the tale of events at King's Landing over the past few seasons.

The inclusion of Davis was rumored earlier as well when her pic from the set of the hit HBO series leaked online showing her sporting bob hairdo, tassels and beads.

Davis will be joined by other newcomers in the upcoming season of the hit fantasy series, including "Withnail and I" actor Richard E. Grant, Freddie Stroma, Pilou Asbaek, Max von Sydow and Ian McShane, , Watchers On The Wall reported . Grant will also be seen playing the role of travelling theatre troupe member, wherein he will head the group and pretend to be King Robert in the play.
