Urman teased in an Entertainment Weekly interview the struggles that Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) will face in the second season. According to Urman, Jane's emotional story will focus on how she embraces motherhood while trying to retain one's sense of self and still accomplish all of the things that she wants in life.

Urman has also confirmed that Jane will make a huge commitment in "Jane the Virgin" Season 2. "Jane will get married," Urman revealed.
However, Urman remained tight-lipped on burning question of "Is Jane going to marry Michael (Brett Dier) or Rafael (Justin Baldoni)?" There is a slim chance that a new guy will enter Jane's life because Urman teased that there is a big development.

Meanwhile, the old and new "Jane the Virgin" characters that will further complicate Jane's life in the new season include Sin Rostro (Bridget Regan), who kidnapped Jane's newborn son Mateo in the finale of "Jane the Virgin" Season 1, the ex-wife of Jane's dad Rogelio (Jaime Camil), Rafael's half-brother, a mysterious figure from Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Jane's past and Jane's new neighbor, which will be portrayed by Kesha. "As Jane moves into different spheres as a writer and mother, there will be people that come into each of those realms," Urman shared.

Aside from meeting the new characters, Urman added that a lot of characters that the fans already met in the pilot season will return to cause new trouble. One character that Urman hopes to bring back is Rogelio's mother Liliana (Rita Moreno).

In an exclusive interview with People, Kesha shared that she was supposed to have her day off in three weeks when she received the phone call telling her about the audition for "Jane the Virgin" Season 2. A statement from the CW Network revealed that Kesha will portray Jane's next door neighbor, a rocker named Annabelle, who is not exactly a "baby person."

"Jane the Virgin" Season 2 will premiere on Monday night, Oct. 12, at 9/8c on the CW Network.
