Formula 1 former seven-time champion, Michael Schumacher, is still fighting hard to recuperate from the head and brain injuries he sustained while skiing in the French Alps in December 2013.

While skiing, Schumacher lost control and hit a rock with his head leaving him with an induced coma. Although he was wearing a helmet, the accident had a heavy impact causing a severe trauma to his cranium.

Under a medically-induced coma, Schumi only gained full consciousness on June 16, 2014. He left the Grenoble Hospital and was transferred to Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland for further examination.

The head trauma caused Schumi and his family a lot of distress since he is paralyzed to the extent that he can only move in a wheelchair, The Telegraph UK reported.

Speaking on a French radio, former race-car driver Philippe Streiff dished on Schumacher's health condition. Streiff, also wheelchair bound following a racing accident in 1989 in Brazil, dished that Schumi is not only paralyzed but also he has difficulties with speech and memory.

However, according to a video released in May, Schumacher is positively progressing in terms of his health. Furthermore, a recent video interview done by Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm, indicates that the former F1 racer is recuperating, TVNZ reported.

Sabine added that despite the severity of Schumacher's injury the former Ferrari champion is fighting to recover.

She said, "But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."

Meanwhile, Schumacher's wife, Corinna, sued three news publications after they reported inaccurately concerning her husband's condition. Ever since, there have been media blackouts on the progress of the seven-time world champion.

Motor Authority is planning to auction a Ferrari FXX 29/30 that has Schumi's signature in his honor. Reports indicate that the sports car will be auction on Sept. 26 in Berlin and it is expected to sell for more than $.23 million.
