"Castle" season 8 premiered on Monday night with the episode entitled "XY."
The episode kicked off with Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) surprising his wife after she was named the new captain of the 12th precinct.
After disregarding the call that she received on her phone, Kate (Stana Katic) met up with Deputy Chief Gates.
While this was happening, Rick went to his office only to find that his daughter Alexis (Molly Quinn) have been busy solving some cases of her own.
Later on in the episode, Rick found out that Kate was missing. He later on found his wife's new bracelet with the word "Always" engraved on it floating in the pool.
Worried that something that might have happened to her, Rick met up with new character Hayley Shipton (Toks Olagundoye), who has been working as a disgraced British bobby investigating the thefts of SSS numbers and fake IDs, according to TV Line.
Meanwhile, the same publication noted that there is a huge chance that fans of "Castle" would see Kate riding a motorcycle this season.
In other news, "Castle" season 8 episode 2 premiere next Monday with the episode entitled "XX." The episode will be told from the point of view of Kate.
Other exciting details on the show were previously revealed by co-showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter.
According to the duo, they will shake things up a bit in the upcoming installment because it is their goal to bring exciting twists to Rick and Kate's lives.
"Castle" season 8 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
