In "Bones" season 10 finale, Booth and Brennan chose an alternative lifestyle over their crime-fighting careers at the Jeffersonian. With their non-dangerous job positions and new son, they will live peacefully until Booth goes missing.

In "Bones" season 11 episode 1 "The Loyalty in the Lie," Booth will not have much screen time and he will be seen at home and in the lab, according to Buddy TV.

Booth and Brennan will be lured back to the Jeffersonian in "Bones" season 11 , and upon their return, Brennan will learn who has filled in for her in her absence. In the previous season, Brennan was disappointed because she is not satisfied with almost every candidate chosen by Dr. Camille Saroyan (Tamara Taylor).

In the interim, as new "Bones" showrunner Michael Peterson told Entertainment Weekly, the main intern who has taken over is Arastoo Vaziri (Pej Vahdat).

Peterson told the publication that Arastoo has "really filled in for Brennan in her absence" and eventually, Brennan will come back "but what that means for Cam and Arastoo is very interesting."

Prior to playing Arastoo Vaziri in "Bones," Vahdat played several TV series characters including Kaseem in "Single Ladies," Alden Mills in "Harry's Law," Kash in "Shameless" and Tarik Amin in "Grey's Anatomy," among others.
