"Castle" season 8 episode 1 "XY" aired on ABC on Sept. 21, Monday. It was told from the perspective of Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) as he searches for Kate Beckett (Stana Katic).
In "Castle" season 8 episode 1, Richard Castle hoped to uncover what happened to Kate Beckett as he discovered that she has been keeping some secrets from him. Hayley Vargas' (Toks Olagundoye) dynamic with Alexis Castle (Molly C. Quinn) brings out a soft side that makes the new season more exciting, as Entertainment Weekly puts it.
According to Fillion, Richard Castle is expected to do more private investigating work in "Castle" season 8 after Kate Beckett has become the captain of her precinct.
"I like this guy" Fillion told ABC7 of his "Castle" character. "I've been invested in characters I play for far less time. This is year eight. To say I'm invested in Richard Castle is an understatement."
Fillion has been working as an actor for 20 years. He said he owes his right attitude in the entertainment business to his first acting job, which was with the soap opera "One Life to Live," and the rigorous schedule of daytime.
Aside from playing Richard Castle in "Castle" season 8, Fillion is also filming the fantasy film "Yamasong: March of the Hollows" and the animation film "Henchmen," which features the voices of James Marsden, Rosario Dawson and Jane Krakowski, among others.
In "Yamasong: March of the Hollows," Fillion plays Shojun opposite Freida Pinto as Geta and Abigail Breslin as Nani. In "Henchmen," he lends his voice to the character named Captain Superior.
