"Awkward" season 5 aired a new episode on Monday night that made Jenna realize that she will never be the most popular girl in school.
Just recently, Jenna's schoolmates started noticing who she was after they thought that she plotted for school to be cancelled on one random day.
However, Jenna's popularity came with so much risk. Not only did she make Matty feel awkward and unwanted, she also had arguments with her best friend Tamara.
In order for to come the realization that she can never be the most popular girl in school, her mom Lacey had to remind her of a difficult time in her life.
According to TV Fanatic, Lacey reminded Jenna of the letter her mom wrote to her last season.
At that time, the mother and daughter duo fought like crazy, but they were able to patch things up after Lacey clarified that her intentions were pure.
Meanwhile, Matty seems to be enjoying his new life as an unpopular student. Throughout the entire season, Matty has been one of the most popular students on the show.
This time around, he did not have to pretend to be anybody. He could do things, and no one would really notice him or make fun of him.
However, it is quite obvious that Matty will once again be popular in the upcoming episodes.
In other news, the upcoming episode of "Awkward" season 5 will focus on how Sadie will once again adapt to her own life after her mom shows her her true colors.
"Awkward" season 5 airs Monday nights on MTV.
