"Black Swan" actor Patrick Heusinger is reported to play the antagonist in Edward Zwick's "Jack Reacher 2."

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Heusinger is known for his roles in Ali Selim's romantic drama film "Sweet Land," Darren Aronofsky's drama thriller film "Black Swan," and Noah Baumbach's comedy drama film "Frances Ha."

Aside from his role in upcoming "Jack Reacher" sequel, Heusinger is also set to appear in Philip Donohue's short comedy "Mis Casa Su Casa," Luke Willis family drama "Street of Paris," Tara Lynne Barr's comedy television series "Casual," and Marshall Allman and Shawn Ashmore's action mystery crime television series "Quantum Break."

If Heusinger manages to stand out among the other roles in Zwick's film, then he will have the chance to land bigger and better roles in the franchise, as per Cinema Blend. The success of "Jack Reacher 2" also factor in to this character development in the long run.

Based on Lee Child's novel series, Zwick's "Jack Reacher 2" will serve as a sequel to Christopher McQuarrie's "Jack Reacher." It centers on the titular character after he returns to the headquarters of his old unit, only to discover that he is currently accused of a 16-year-old homicide.

"Jack Reacher 2" stars "Mission: Impossible" actor Tom Cruise as Reacher, along with David Ellison, Herb Gains, and Don Granger, among others.

With Zwick set to helm the film, Richard Wenk, Marshall Herskovitz, and Child are on board to contribute to the screenplay of the film. Meanwhile, James Newton Howard is set to co-produce the film.

Zwick's "Jack Reacher 2" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Oct. 21, 2016.
