Fans of "Fifty Shades Of Grey" star Jamie Dornan who were anticipating a glimpse of him in Bradley Cooper's "Burnt" will be sorely disappointed as Dornan's scene has been left out on the cutting room floor.

The upcoming comedy drama led by Bradley Cooper was initially to feature the Northern Irish hunk, starring opposite Cooper in a small cameo role. However, a recent rethink of script and plot lines by director John Wells has meant that Dornan's cameo has been excluded, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The plot for "Burnt" revolves around Cooper's character of Adam Jones who takes a second shot at breaking into the restaurant business. To complement the storyline Dornan's character was said to be a rival chef entangled in the past of Jones' love interest played by Sienna Miller.

Director Wells in a statement revealed to the publication, the reasoning behind the decision saying Dornan's role was merely a small one, relating to the backstory of Sienna Miller's character. "'We ultimately decided to focus on Adam Jones' redemption story," Wells said in the statement.

While commending Dornan for his performance Wells said, he was thankful to the "Fifty Shades Darker" star for playing the role, adding "His performance was fantastic." However, "the adjustment in the storyline" has meant Dornan being axed from the movie. Some critiques felt Dornan's star power may have overshadowed and taken away from Cooper's performance had his scene been allowed to remain in the movie.

Meanwhile, fans will not be too disappointed for too long as Dornan is set to appear in a string of films and TV dramas. He will next appear in two period dramas "Jadotville" and "Anthropid." In addition, Dornan will reprise his role for BBC's "The Fall" where he plays the part of Paul Spector, according to the Daily Mail.
