"The Exorcist Actor" Max von Sydow's potential role in J.J. Abrams' upcoming sci-fi space film "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" has been revealed.

According to Making Star Wars, the 86-year old Swedish actor will play the role of a character named Lor San Tekka; however, it is just a rumor at this point. The publication revealed that Tekka is an elder on a village on the desert planet called Jakku. In addition, the character is said to have a pivotal role, as he has the information with regard to where Luke Sykwalker could be found.

Rumors say that a portion of Abram's film will involve Skywalker's absence and the actions that will be made to find him. It is also reported that Poe Dameron, who is played by "X-Men: Apocalypse" actor Oscar Isaac, will find Tekka to obtain information.

Earlier reports said that von Sydow could be an ancient villain or The Vicar, as per Cinema Blend. But with the new information, it seems that the actor's character would play a "relatively small" yet pivotal role in Abrams' film. It has been also said that Tekka has a contact with a new form of Rebel Alliance called Resistance, which he deals with after he gets a lightsaber that is presumably owned by Skywalker.

Aside from William Friedkin's horror film "The Exorcist," von Sydow is also known for his roles in Martin Scorsese's mystery thriller "Shutter Island," Ridley Scott's action adventure "Robin Hood," and David Benioff and D.B. Weiss' adventure television series "Game of Thrones." Along with Abram's "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," the actor is also set to appear in Christopher Xiao's crime thriller "Santos."

Meanwhile, "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi" and it showcases an ensemble of both old and new heroes and villains. Aside from von Sydow, the film also stars Isaac, Simon Pegg, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford, among others.

Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Dec. 18. Watch the official teaser here:
