On Dec.18, 19 primary school students in Loudi city, which is located in the central province of Hunan, China, received yoghurt drinks from Mrs. Peng, a 34-year-old woman, on their way home. After drinking the yoghurt, 19 students, including Mrs. Peng's son, have been hospitalized because the drinks caused vomiting and convulsions.

Among the 19 students, 3 students were in serious conditions. Fortunately, the hospital announced that their lives were out of danger.

According to the police's preliminary investigation, Mrs. Peng confessed that the drinks have been laced with rat poison and herbicide. She injected the rat poison and herbicide into the yoghurt drinks and delivered the drinks to those students.

Yu is a classmate of Li's. When leaving school with young Li on Dec. 18, Yu met Li's mother, Mrs. Peng, who delivered yoghurt drinks to both of them. Yu found out that there was a small hole on the cap. Yu said, Mrs. Peng carried a bag full of yoghurt drinks. She delivered those drinks to people she knew and students she didn't know as well. After coming back home, Yu felt sick. It turned out that he suffered from food poisoning.

Investigation indicated that Mrs. Peng is 34 years old and is suspected to be suffering from a mental disorder. According to Teacher Yan, Li's teacher, Mrs. Peng has long been dissatisfied with her son's performance at school, although Li did well in both Chinese and mathematics. She kept saying that her son could not compete with others and did not obey her. From Teacher Yan's perspective, Mrs. Peng was a responsible mother who sent Li to school and picked him up after school every day. However, unlike other parents, Mrs. Peng always kept standing outside the school every morning after sending Li to school. Teacher Yan had not seen Mrs. Peng waiting outside the school for two weeks, which made Yan happy as she thought that Mrs. Peng took her advice and would not behave like that again. However, Yan was surprised that Mrs. Peng delivered poisoned drinks to students, including her son.

It has been confirmed that three students were in serious condition, but their lives were not in danger. Investigations are still ongoing.
