"Empire" is back with a bang with season 2 on Fox with its powerfully dramatic season 2 premier episode. "Empire" season 2 episode 1 showed that despite being behind the bars, Lucious (Terrence Howard) is still much more ruthless and powerful than what Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) can ever be as he effortlessly destroyed her plan to take over Empire.

"Empire" season 2 episode 2 is likely to focus attention on Jamal (Jussie Smollett) , who is emerging steadily as badass as his father. He will be seen determined to take Empire to new heights and does not seem to be ready for any kind of compromise.

The episode 2, which will be titled "Without A Country," will show Jamal neglecting his music and focusing solely on business deals and strategies. Meanwhile, Lucious releases a chart topping number from the prison and once again proves his worth in Empire.

Cookie, who has failed miserably in episode 1 at her attempt to take over the record-label company, decides to start her own independent setup. She joins hands with her son Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), Anika (Grace Gealey) and Andre (Trai Byers) to come up as Empire's competitor, though, they will be faced with huge roadblocks since all four of them are thinking in different directions.

Hakeem is keen on launching a new all-girl band as his company's first project for which has even selected a talented a hot Latina lead singer (guest star Becky G).

Lucious, who was faced with a cold-hearted prosecutor in episode 1, will be more determined to get out of the prison and will hire a more aggressive lawyer. It appear that the move proves fruitful as he is seen back to corporate setup in promos for the episode 2.

Will Hakeem find new love in Latina singer? Is Lucious free or is still facing threats from FBI? Find out these and much more when Fox will air "Empire" season 2 episode 2 on Sept. 30, Wednesday, at 9 p.m.
