Android Marshmallow is expected to get a release date in the month of October this year. It is expected to be present as an out of the box feature in Google Nexus 5X, which is also rumored to be released early next month.

After the update gets trickled down to the Nexus 5 (2nd Gen) and Nexus 6 (2nd Gen), the devices which are currently eligible for the Android M developer's [review operating system will receive this update first. These devices are Moto Nexus 6 2014, LG Nexus 5 2013, HTC Nexus 9 tablet 2014, along with the Nexus Player streaming box.

Apart from the Nexus family, many other devices are also on the list of this upgrade. Devices like Motorola Pure X Edition and Motorola Moto X Play are also the most likely devices to get this upgrade.

However, devices like Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are too old to get such a new operating system upgrade; they are not even equipped with enough RAM to support the Android Marshmallow upgrade.

This update is expected to bring the following changes to the Android devices:

1. The emergency calls menu will automatically appear in case of some trouble after the update, according to BGR.

2. It will also be programed to contact the nearest center suing the device's current location.

3. The new API level 23 will also be introduced in the device. It will support the finger print scanner feature.

4. The enumeration support is expected to increase.

5. The home screen will now get the option to get rotated.
