Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos is reportedly "unhappy" with manager Laurent Blanc's failure to give him first-team opportunities this current season, something which could potentially trigger a move to either Chelsea or Manchester United in January.

So far, the 21-year-old Brazil international has not appeared in any of Les Parisiens' first eight games of the Ligue 1 season.

The Daily Express said that "the young Brazilian is growing frustrated at being the third choice" for Blanc at the center back position this year behind countrymen David Luiz and Thiago Silva.

Rumors of Marquinhos desire to leave Parc des Princes will surely be welcomed by the defending Premier League champions Chelsea and the current English league leaders Manchester United.

Former PSG teammate and also Brazilian Alex, who now plays for Inter Milan, urged Marquinhos to leave Les Rouge-et-Bleu and search for first-team chances with other teams or even in another league.

"Marquinhos would fit in at any big European club," the 33-year-old veteran said. "His problem is that two of the best players in the world in his position are ahead of him."

Caught Offside noted that between the Blues and the Red Devils, Jose Mourinho's side is more in need of a reliable defender even with the long-term absence of Luke Shaw due to injury.

While Louis van Gaal's boys are currently enjoying the no.1 spot with 16 points and only 5 goals allowed to date, the Pensioners are struggling in the lower half of the standings with only eight points in seven outings, allowing 14 goals in the process.

Much of it can be attributed to the aging starting backfield at Stamford Bridge composed of team captain John Terry, Branislav Ivanović, and Gary Cahill, who are all in their 30's and above.

Full back César Azpilicueta, at 26 years old, is the fourth member of Mourinho's starting defense. 21-year-old Baba Rahman and 20-year-old Kurt Zouma are slowly being inserted in the first team, but Chelsea evidently needs more young blood.
