The electronics maker Motorola has officially declared which of its handsets will receive the Android Marshmallow update.

At present, the company is planning to upgrade the following Motorola handsets.

1.2014 Moto MAXX
2. 2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
3. 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen)

Motorola devices that will not get the Android Marshmallow update are Moto E, Moto X (2013) and Moto G (2013).

Furthermore, the company declared that Moto Connect and Migrate will not be preloaded on new devices and Moto Assist will be retired. Motorola said in its blog that it will retire the Moto Connect Google Chrome extensions.

According to several reports, Android Marshmallow will start rolling out next week. Nexus devices will be the first to get the latest update. Some of the features of Android Marshmallow are Android Pay, Now on Tap, Doze Mode and Direct Share.

Android Pay allows users to make purchases with a simple tap without opening a separate app.
Doze Mode monitors when the smartphone is not being used and put it into a deep sleep which can double the battery life. Direct Share gives users quick links to sharing messages with a particular person via a particular app.

Better connectivity, Android for Work, improved productivity and app backup and restore are some other features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, according to Tech Times.
