"Boruto: Naruto The Movie" US release was reportedly delayed to Oct. 10 from its original premiere date on Oct. 7. However, US distributor Viz Media is expecting some loss since the film is readily available in various anime streaming sites.

In early September, it was reported that "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" leaked on various websites: Reddit, 4Chan, Facebook, Twitter, and Torrent engines. Thus, fans can download the movie with or without the English subtitles. The leaked video is a pirated version of the film taken via handheld video cameras inside movie theaters. Now, a clearer version of the movie can be viewed in anime websites.

The film already graced the Japanese theaters on Aug. 7 and just weeks since its first screening the film reportedly rake in a total of 2.02 billion yen (approximately $16.8 million) as of Aug. 25.

The new "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" US release date coincides with the New York Comic Con as well as Naruto's birthday. Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto will grace the said event for a meet-and-greet session.

It seems that it is too late for Viz Media to pull the plug on the film as the list of theatres and screening dates was released. Moreover, the "Hokage For A Day" contest is already ongoing.

While it may mean less moviegoers in October, Viz Media wishes to attract more people by bringing in the Naruto creator in the event.

Boruto is the son of Naruto, who became Konoha's seventh Hokage after winning the fourth Ninja War. Boruto carries this as a burden and has feelings of wanting to surpass his father who is respected as a hero of the village. He will more likely inherit some of Naruto's powers like his father's sage abilities and rasengan chakra molding skills.
