The link between adult entertainment and tech is close, with pornography often following new technology, as indicated by VCR, DVD, Blu-Ray, the Internet, mobile devices, and virtual reality. A new study was conducted by x-rated video sharing site PornHub and network developer Juniper to discover the viewing habits of Android and iOS smartphone owners, including adult videos and nude photos.
The study did not include any graphic or nude images. However, bosses would likely be unhappy if they caught their employees taking the survey while on the clock.
One big result from the survey is that smartphone porn sites have been skyrocketing. While PC browsing made up 88 percent of PornHub traffic in 2010, it has dropped to 37 percent this year.
Most mobile porn viewers are using Android (48 percent) and iOS (46 percent), according to Android Authority. Just 6 percent use other mobile platforms.
The Android OS is the most widely used porn platform in most countries. However, iOS is the leader in other regions, including North America, Australia, and some small pockets in Europe and Asia.
In the United States, Android only outnumbers iOS among porn consumers in two states: South Carolina and Texas.
Interestingly, Android users' PornHub sessions are about 1 minute and 45 seconds longer than iOS fans'. The former also views more pages, according to JOE.
Next, the top search term for iOS and Android users is lesbians. Other popular search terms include teen, milf (Moms I'd Like To ----), step mom, step sister, and black.
In terms of categories viewed, Android users are most likely to watch BBW (Big Beautiful Women). However, the most popular category among iOS users is milfs.
Finally, in terms of PornHub users' genders, about three-fourths of the video sharing site's visitors are male. Meanwhile, around one-fourth is female.
