The suicide of Catriona White surprised her former boyfriend, comedian Jim Carrey. However, another unexpected news came out on Sunday.
E! News reports that it turned out that Catriona was married to another man when she died last week. Her body would be released to Catriona's next of kin, who was the unnamed husband, according to the LA Coroner's office. The corpse of the deceased makeup artist is with the coroner's office since Catriona's husband is still making arrangements with a mortuary.
But the entertainment website reports that Catriona was separated from her husband and was planning to divorce him in December, citing sources close to Jim.
The same source confirmed that the pills which Catriona took to end her life, following just calling it quits with Jim, was the actor's which she got from him although he was unaware that she took it. Since Jim takes the pills only once in a while, he did not noticed right away it was missing.
According to People, the four prescription pills found in Catriona's home were Ambien, Percocet, Propranolol and Zofran. While the pills belong to Jim, it was prescribed under an alias. The actor has spoken to authorities and there is no criminal investigation on him despite the pills that Catriona took came from Jim.
Despite the separation, Jim is reportedly in touch with his former girlfriend's family and has offered financial assistance to fly her corpse to her native Ireland.
