Miley Cyrus performed on "Saturday Night Live" on Oct. 3 where she served as the host and guest for the show's Season 41 premiere.

During her performance, the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2015 was overcome with emotion and tears began to flow. This time, it was neither her bizarre ensembles nor monologue that shocked viewers of "Saturday Night Live," but it was her emotional ode to her dead pets that shook viewers.

The former "Hannah Montana" star appeared in a few skits. Dressed in a vibrantly colored short skirt covered with flowers, Cyrus kicked off the SNL season premiere giving a poignant performance of summer 2015 version of Frank Sinatra's "My Way" that poked fun at Kim Davis meeting Pope Francis, Rachel Dolezal and the Meek Mill/Drake feud.

"Although tonight I am on a seven-second delay -- not a television delay -- it's just that when you smoke as much as I do, you're always on a seven-second delay," she ridiculed hinting at her recent hosting duties at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

SNL cast members appeared as well-liked flash-in-pan characters from recent months, including the dentist who shot Cecil the Lion and more. The noteworthy element of the show was Hillary Clinton's turn playing a bartender named Val while SNL's Kate McKinnon did her off the wall version of the former secretary of state.

The sketch also featured several humorous musical references, including Ariana Grande's donut-licking controversy, and Lenny Kravitz inadvertently exposing his junk during a festival set. McKinnon and Cyrus also offered the full flavor of the millennial egocentricity.

The 22-year-old singer performed three songs, one being a performance of her single "The Twinkle Song."  She was accompanied solely by her piano and a few photos of her dead pets (Floyd the puppy and Pablow the blowfish, among others).

She also performed two songs from her new album, "Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz." First was "Karen Don't Be Sad," which she sang with a little help from a few members of the Flaming Lips. The members of the Flaming Lips were clad in animal onesies.

Following her SNL appearance, Cyrus announced that she and the Flaming Lips would hit the road together for a limited six-date club tour where they would perform their "Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz" songs, reported Rolling Stone.

The small tour kicks off Nov.19, at Chicago's Riviera Theatre and includes stops in Detroit, Washington, D.C., New York City, Philadelphia and Boston. Tickets for all shows go on sale Oct.7, at 4 p.m. local time at Live Nation.
