"Finding Carter" season 2 premiered on Tuesday night, and fans were surprised even more drama on the hit MTV series.

Lori is now out of prison, and she's determined to reach out to Carter. Meanwhile, Carter wants to get to know her half-brother Ben better, but it seems that he's not ready to start a relationship with her.

According to Bustle, it's highly possible that Ben isn't Carter's half-brother. He could have just been hired by Lori to lie about his relationship to Carter's family.

One fan theory noted, "Carter gets closer with her supposed brother Ben, who will lead her down the garden path with Lori. I suspect he's either a random guy for hire, or another patient Lori met at the mental health facility."

Some fans also believe that if Ben isn't who he says he is, then he could be Carter's newest love interest.

Meanwhile, speaking of love interests, executive producer Emily Whitesell spoke with Hollywood Life recently to dish on Carter and Max's relationship.

According to her, the writers sometimes think that Max and Carter should be together. Other times, they feel that it's best if they remain just friends.

What's for certain is that Max and Carter will get back their close friendship towards the end of season 2B.

"Sometimes in the writer room we say, ultimately, it's Max and Carter. But meanwhile, he's deeply in love with Taylor. He and Carter have a very deep friendship that is huge this season. But we go through the ups and downs of that," she said.
