"Thor" actor Tom Hiddleston has shared his thoughts on his supposed appearance in Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
In his interview with Cinema Blend at the press conference for Guillermo del Toro's upcoming horror film "Crimson Peak," Hiddleston said that when the film had been screened, the audience had believed that Loki had been manipulating Ultron. The actor added that Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige had thought that that element had been making the film unbalanced.
According to Cinema Blend, having two villains in the film through Ultron and Loki would be confusing to the viewers. Since some fans could assume that Loki could beat Ultron because he is an organic being, Ultron will not be that effective if he shares the big screen with the god of mischief.
While Ultron emerged as the primary villain in Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" after removing Loki in the film's final cut, the "Thor" subplot lacked some sense, as per Screen Rant. The film originally included a sequence involving Thor's vision in the Norn pool; however, it was also one of the deleted scenes in "The Avengers" Blu-ray.
Hiddleston is known for his roles as Loki in "Thor," "Thor: The Dark World," and "The Avengers." The actor is set to reprise his role as the god of mischief in Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok," which is directed by Taika Waititi. Aside from his Norse deity roles, Hiddleston is also set to appear in Jordan Vogt-Roberts "King Kong" prequel "Kong: Skull Island" and Guillermo del Toro's horror fantasy film "Crimson Peak."
Waititi's "Thor: Ragnarok" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Nov. 3, 2017. Meanwhile, Vogt-Roberts' "Kong: Skull Island" premieres on Mar. 10, 2017 while del Toro's "Crimson Peak" hits theaters on Oct. 16.
