Nicole Kidman, 48, was in London on Oct. 8, Thursday, for the Women In the World Summit where she shared the loneliest days of her life and how she used it to her advantage.

"I was sitting in the Beverly Hills Hotel and it was all extraordinary and I was the loneliest I've ever been," People quoted Kidman as saying. She said after her divorce from Tom Cruise, 53, in 2001, she tried to find solace in her work as an actress.

However, Kidman said she realized that she needed more in her life after winning Best Actress in a Leading Role in the Academy Awards in 2003 for her role in "The Hours," which also starred Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore.

After her divorce from Cruise, Kidman starred in several award-winning films including "Cold Mountain," "Birth," "Rabbit Hole," "Hemmingway & Gellhorn" and "The Paperboy."

According to Kidman, she was running from her life after her divorce from Cruise. She said she was not able to handle the reality of her life but as an actor, she was able to go and get lost in somebody else's life and become someone else for a period of time.

For Kidman, it is interesting that the films she did while trying to escape from the reality of her life were the ones that were applauded. Eventually, she tried to embrace her own life and get herself together.

In other news, Cruise is reportedly relocating to Florida. A source told Us Weekly that Kidman's former husband hates living in Los Angeles because he thinks "all the people in Hollywood are fake."
