LeFauve also mentioned that she and the team had not started Captain Marvel yet, which implies that the script is yet to be made. The screenwriter added that they had just got a phone call to come to Marvel Studios for the initial meetings that she did not know any information yet.

According to Cinema Blend, Danvers was initially included in Joss Whedon's film storyline. The publication also mentioned that the superhero was set debut in Marvel's Cinematic Universe as one of the new members of the Avengers in the final scene; however, such plans had been scrapped prior the release of "Avengers: Age of Ultron." As a result, fans saw the usual roster of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

In the comics, Danvers started as a member of the Air Force; however, her exposure to the flare-up of an alien (Kree) device led her human genes to mix with the Kree genes. It gave her powers, such as super strength, speed, and agility, in addition to flight abilities and energy manipulation.

While Ronda Rousey, Emily Blunt, Charlize Theron, Rebecca Ferguson, and Jennifer Lawrence have been attached to the role, Marvel is yet to announce the one who will don Danvers' suit.

After to the inclusion of "Ant-Man and the Wasp," Marvel's "Captain Marvel" has moved its release date, according to Marvel's official website. Originally set to premiere on Nov. 2, 2018, "Captain Marvel" is now set to hit theaters on Mar. 8, 2019.
