The new "Spider-Man" 2017 movie rumors will have Miles Morales and Mary Jane Watson in the film, as well as new details on Peter Parker's costume.
Film director Jon Watts teased that possibility that the Ultimate version Spider-Man, Miles Morales will likely appear in the the "Spider-Man" 2017 movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked if the rumors about Miles' appearance was true, Watts told Yahoo Movies that he cannot talk about it right now as it will reveal "too much" about the film and they are still writing about the story. Although Watts did not directly answered the question, he also did not explicitly denied Mile Morales' existence in the film as both Marvel and Sony will likely have a new angle and direction for Spider-Man in the MCU now that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and Miles will likely cross paths in the future.
Miles Morales is the current web-slinger in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics after that version's Peter Parker died in battle at the hands of the Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. He has the same powers as his predecessor, but with a few differences like his camouflage ability and spider stings that can stun enemies out cold. Miles Morales became popular among comic book fans as the character received numerous solo and crossover titles including meeting Peter Parker of the main Marvel universe. It was rumored that Miles Morales could be MCU's version of Spider-Man before Marvel confirmed that a 15-year-old Peter Parker will appear in their movies
Aside from Miles Morales, Watts stated in an interview that their will likely be a Mary Jane Watson in "Spider-Man" 2017 after he name dropped some of his favorite Spidey comics such as "Ultimate Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man Loves Mary-Jane.
Fans speculated that the MCU version of Mary Jane Watson could be based on either the Ultimate comics or the romance novel style presented within "Spider-Man Loves Mary-Jane" due to Watts' "John Hugh-inspired tone" of the film. Mary Jane Watson is considered Peter's "true love" in the Marvel comics as the she first made he on-screen appearance in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy played by Kirsten Dunst. It was rumored that "Divergent" star Shailene Woodley is rumored to play Mary Jane Watson in the "Spider-Man 2017" film, but Marvel has not made any confirmation about it.
In othe news, new details of Spider-Man's costume in the MCU have been revealed. It is stated that Peter's Spider-Man costume will be based on Steve Ditko's design during the 1960's complete with the old school fat spider logo on his back and webbed underarms, Heroic Hollywood reported.
Several reports hinted that Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) will provide Peter with his web shooters and costume as away to recruit him on his team in "Captain America: Civil War".
Spider-Man will appear first in "Captain America: Civil War" on May 6, 2016 and his new solo film on July 28, 2017.
