New details for "Pacific Rim 2" have been revealed regarding more Kaijus, Jaegers and possible alien invasion in the plot, as well as an update of the films production budget and script.
"Crimson Peak" director Guillermo del Toro tweeted an update on "Pacific Rim 2" movie stating that budget for the sequel is ready for use and he is waiting for screen writer John Spaihts to complete.
The first "Pacific Rim" movie has earned over $411 million in the box office in 2013 and the sequel has been announced since last month, but the production for "Pacific Rim 2" has been halted due to budget and script problems, ComicBook reported. Fans of the film began to worry if "Pacific Rim 2" could be a possibility as rumors and speculations over its cancellation began rampant throughout the internet.
Luckily, del Toro assured movie fans that "Pacific Rim 2" is still on the go and with the budget already in place and revision of the script being developed, its seems that the sequel will begin production anytime soon.
Aside from the budget and script update, del Toro teased that they will add something different for "Pacific Rim 2" as the sequel will feature more Kaijus, Jaegers and possibly an alien invasion in the plot, Digital Spy reported.
Early plot rumors for "Pacific Rim 2" hinted that Jaeger pilots will receive new allies from the future to combat a new Kaiju threat giving in to the idea the time travel is in the works. But, since the script will be rewritten by Spaihts, It seems that new plot twist for "Pacific Rim 2" will be announced soon when productions starts.
In addition, "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams will join the cast as new Jaeger pilot in the sequel.
"Pacific Rim 2" was originally scheduled to be shown in cinemas on Aug. 4, 2017, but since the production was delayed it seems that time table for the sequel's premiere will be moved.
