Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo will finally receive Android Lollipop 5.0 in United Kingdom.

According to Android Origin, this was a long awaited update and it will be released for the SM-N750 variant of the device. The reason behind the extreme delay to update this device must be that the device is not very popular amongst the customers in comparison with other Samsung devices. Samsung might be thinking that spending time and resources to upgrade this device might put them behind than their competitors.

Samsung's official UK handle tweeted and confirmed the news of the upgrade earlier this week. The actual release frame was however, not mentioned in the tweet.

In addition, the tweet only mentioned that an update is being developed for Galaxy Note 3 Neo. Since it is currently working on Android KitKat 4.4.4, it is being speculated that the update means Android Lollipop 5.0. On the other hand, Samsung users are also speculating that it could be other versions of Android Lollipop as well, implying that Samsung will skip a few updates for this device.

As already mentioned, Samsung did not mention any official release date for the software update for Galaxy Note 3 Neo. Tech experts are saying that from the looks of it, the update might make its way to this device within this year.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo was released in Feb. 2014. It is equipped with a 5.5-inch display screen with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels along with a super AMOLED touch screen, according to GSM Arena. It was released with Android Jellybean 4.3 out of the box. It is also equipped with a quad core 1.3 GHz processor running on an Exynos 5260 chip set.
