Chris McKay's animated action comedy film "The Lego Batman Movie" has found its Batgirl, "Sin City" actress Rosario Dawson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dawson would voice Barbara Gordon, the daughter of police commissioner James Gordon who eventually becomes Batgirl. This entails that Dawson might be playing the role of a civilian at the start of the plot prior to becoming the iconic Batgirl.

Along with Batman's struggles and adventures, Batgirl's inclusion would enable the fans to know the Bat-Family more in a fun way, as per Cinema Blend. With Lego Batman and Batgirl in one film, it is assumed that both would be able to show off their combat skills, along with their exchange of funny lines, just like in Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's 2014 film "The Lego Movie."

Aside from "The Lego Batman Movie," Dawson is also set to be part of Melissa Rosenberg's upcoming series "Jessica Jones," action series "Luke Cage," Denise Di Novi's thriller film "Unforgettable,"Adam Wood's animated film "Henchmen," Kevin Smith's comedy film "Clerks III," and Jericca Cleland and Kevin Munroe's animated action adventure "Ratchet and Clank."

Aside from Dawson, "The Lego Batman Movie" also stars Michael Cera as Dick Grayson/Robin, Zach GFalifianakis as The Joker, and Will Arnet as Bruce Wayne/Batman, among others.

With McKay set to helm the film, "The Flash" screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith is on board to co-pen the film screenplay. The film will be co-produced by Will Allegra, Ryan Halprin, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, John Powers Middleton, Lord, and Miller, among others.

At this point, exact details on the film's plot, additional characters, and cast, are yet to be revealed.

McKay's "The Lego Batman Movie" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
