With the release of the new poster for J.J. Abrams' forthcoming space sci-fi film "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," it can be noticed that Luke Skywalker is not in the photo.

According to Cinema Blend, it is possible that Abrams and the production leave the audiences thinking about Skywalker's appearance in the film, more specifically on when, where, and how he would be seen in the storyline. Fans are aware that the filmmaker loved to hide some information about his movie for them to be left wondering if the great Jedi warrior would actually appear in the film.

In line with such surprises, it is also probable that Skywalker's appearance might have been changed in Abrams' upcoming film. While fans could see the character masked or not, watching the film holds the answer. Either way, "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi."

Meanwhile, the poster placed emphasis on larger phases like Kylo Ren, Rey, and Finn, along with the Starkiller Base, the First Order's destructive weapon, as per Cinema Blend. Then, the middle of the poster shows pilot Poe Dameron, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2, and the new robot BB-8.

The poster's bottom part also features Captain Phasma, the Stormtroopers, the X-Wings, and the Millenium Falcon.

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" stars an ensemble of both old and new heroes and villains played by Oscar Isaac, Hamill, Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford, among others.

Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18 while Gareth Edawrds's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" premieres on Dec. 16, 2016. Meanwhile, Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 26, 2017 while Colin Trevorrow's "Star Wars: Episode IX" premieres in 2019.
