Social Experiment Shows How People React When Someone Is Bullied In Front of Them (Photo : News 2 YouTube Channel)
Bullying is a perennial problem with one out of three kids being bullied in school. UP TV did a social experiment to see if people will stand up to bullies when they see them bullying a child before their very eyes.
The anti-bullying campaign asks the question "Would YOU help a child being bullied?" Three girls are placed at a bus stop with two teens saying mean things to the younger girl, Unilad reported.
The social experiment was done to see if people are going to intervene and help stop bullying. What you will see in the video will show you that humanity has not lose its heart and compassion to the defenseless.
According to family-friendly website Wimp, around 20-70 percent of school children have either been bullied or witnessed bullying themselves.
In the video, the older girls said to the younger one that people in the school thinks she's a freak because all she does is read. She also said that she needs makeup. At one point they even asked her if she really has friends aside from imaginary ones or family.
Thankfully, strangers stood up for her and defended her. Most of them reprimanded the two girls while some asked the young girl to move away from them and sit beside them.
A police officer told the girls, "Quit messing with her." While another bystander asked them to just leave the little girl alone. A young man came to the girl's rescue telling the other girls to stop talking s**t.
A woman lectured them and told them that they shouldn't hurt someone's feelings and intentionally do it. Another lady berated the teens for being so rude.
There was an old man was so kind and played the harmonica for the young girl. While another lady even asked her if she wants to ride the bus with her and her daughter.
