Tom Holland has shared his insights on his injury in Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's forthcoming Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War."
Holland is playing the iconic web-slinger Spider-Man in the Russos' upcoming film. In his interview with Hey You Guys, Holland explained that his bruises and scrapes on his face had been his own mistake. The actor said that he had fallen over and had bashed his face in front of nearly 200 crew members, which he had not viewed as his greatest moment as a hero.
Holland said that he had been fortunate before his last shot, as the production staff had captured the moment when everything had gone wrong. For the actor, it had appeared great and they would possibly use CGI effects on the blood.
According to Cinema Blend, Holland's cuts and bruises would be integrated to the actor's role as Peter Parker. Since Marvel Studios' take on the character was someone who was young and inexperienced, Holland's Spider-Man had been assumed to be more vulnerable to hazards and villains, as compared to Tobey Maguire's and Andrew Garfield's versions.
Prior to his appearance in Jon Watts' solo "Spider-Man" film, Holland is set to debut the character in Marvel's Cinematic Universe the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War," which centers on the release of the Accords. It is released by the government to limit superheroes from using their powers.
Spider-Man's side in "Captain America: Civil War" has not yet been revealed at this point, while previous rumors said that he would team up with Iron Man's team, which reportedly includes Black Widow, War Machine, The Vision, and Black Panther. They are set to clash against Captain America's team, which includes Hawkeye, Falcon, Agent 13, and Ant-Man.
The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is set to premiere on May 6, 2016. Meanwhile, Watts' "Spider-Man" film reboot is set to hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
