After suffering from life threatening collapse in a Nevada brothel allegedly due to drug overdose, Lamar Odom is now showing remarkable improvement and is now out of ICU at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
"Lamar is getting better every day," a source told Us Weekly before adding that he can now talk more coherently.
In fact, Odom's speaking skill has progressed to a level where he is communicating with his doctors and is actively participating in decisions about his treatment following the drug overdose.
Due to Odom's better state, his wife and reality star Khloe Kardashian, who was constantly present at his bedside since his hospitalization, managed to venture out to her sister Kim Kardashian's baby shower for a while.
Although the former NBA star has still a long way to go for his full recovery, he has started walking with assistance now. He is constantly surrounded by a team of therapists and specialists who are helping him to regain his motor skills that were lost due to several strokes which he suffered while in a coma.
Odom is still receiving dialysis and is not yet ready for the transplant surgery. Doctors are even trying to rule out the need of kidney transplant altogether by trying to get his kidney function on his own.
Odom will continue to remain hospitalized and under constant observation by experts.
Meanwhile, Odom and Khloe have decided to call off their divorce. Slamming the rumors that they are back again as a couple and are even planning to renew their vows on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," Khloe told People that that getting back is not in their agenda as of now.
