Samsung has already in the mood to be a Santa this upcoming holiday season by kicking off its "Gifts of the Season" promotion.
Starting on Nov. 13 until Nov. 22, the South Korean tech giant offers its customers $350 worth of accessories and $50 in cash. Consumers who buy the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, or Galaxy Note 5 at full retail value can pick up goodies worth a few hundred dollars each. Samsung is also giving away $100 in Google Play credits to anyone who trades in an Apple device for a new Galaxy.
Customers are given the option to choose between two $350 gift packages that are strangely being marketed with their own custom names, CNet reported. The first package is a Swarovski crystal jewelry package, which includes the fast charge portable battery pack, a wireless charging pad and a crystal phone cover. The second package is the Level On gift package comes with the same battery pack and charging pad, but replaces the crystal cover for a pair of Samsung's Level On headphones.
Moreover, the $50 rebate works by activating the company's Samsung Pay mobile payments system on the new phone. The two deals work together, and apply if the customer already bought one of the phones, but have not yet activated the Samsung Pay feature.
Sprint has a Samsung promotion as well, according to The Verge. For consumers who purchase the same four flagship devices, they will receive a year of Amazon Prime, whether they buy the phone outright, pay in monthly instalments, or sign a traditional two-year contract.
It has been a tradition among smartphone makers to offer limited time promotions as part of a new release to sway shoppers and get purchase their products.
