Want to avoid getting stuck in traffic in China? A click on the Web is probably the best solution for you.
To help people with traffic awareness, the first nationwide traffic management website initiated by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) was presented on Tuesday.
In an MPS announcement, the website "www.122.cn" will be providing real-time information on road traffic that will be useful to the public, especially to private vehicle owners.
The launch of the website coincided with the annual "Traffic Safety Day" which was commemorated also on Tuesday.
With the aid of 270,000 traffic enforcers and video surveillances, the information gathered for the website can guarantee traffic safety to its users.
The traffic bureau added that with their website now operating for public consumption, people can automatically check with an online traffic police and be updated with current topics and events on traffic control. MPS will also do adjustments and policies in accordance with the suggestions sent to them.
In addition, MPS aims to play an important role in guiding public road safety by giving out traffic knowledge lectures and travel tips.
Initially, there was no official website put up by the traffic bureau which prompted the public to instead check on local website or inquire directly to the city's transport administration. These has caused tampered information and further inconveniences to people.
