Over a hundred Xbox 360 titles will be playable on the Xbox One starting this week. The much-awaited and uniquely Xbox One feature, backward compatibility, will be launched come Nov. 12.
There are a lot of interesting new games included in the list of backward compatible games. Known IPs like "Mass Effect," "Assassin's Creed II," "Borderlands," the "Gears of War" series, "Plants vs. Zombies" and "Tron: Evolution" are all part of the list. There are also the likes of "Sonic The Hedgehog" series, some "LEGO" titles, "Fallout 3" to prepare for the new "Fallout 4" and the "Sega Vintage Collection." Even with 104 titles, there are still more to come, since Microsoft promised that there is still a long list of old games coming to the Xbox One. As early as December, there will be more Xbox One backward compatible titles announced on a regular basis.
That is not all that is coming to the Xbox One. Microsoft has started to unveil the different features that will debut with the New Xbox Experience. Now, two new videos were revealed by Major Nelson over his official blog, which detail the avatars for Xbox One users and the new OneGuide.
What makes the avatars in Xbox One even more exciting is the fidelity that is seen in Windows 10, including lighting, shading and anti-aliasing. Avatars work in the same way that Xbox fans have already enjoyed. These can be customized depending on one's preferences, and the avatar will be part of the player's overall New Xbox One Experience.
The other improved feature is the OneGuide. This is the helpful tool that lets players easily browse through the video selections on Xbox. Apart from easy access to content that a player already has, the OneGuide also lets players know some more content via featured and recommended selections to expand their interests. In a nutshell, the improvements of the OneGuide allows players to spend more time enjoying the content instead of sorting through them.
This is not the end of the new features for OneGuide. Microsoft has promised that it will bring more features, including live TV listings via the Sling TV app as well as more integrations with the OneGuide.
