After so many weeks of waiting, fans' dreams and wish lists were probably made real. Nintendo has announced the new fighter joining "Super Smash Bros" and it is none other than Cloud Strife from "Final Fantasy VII."

This was revealed over the recently concluded Nintendo Direct. Cloud shows off his moves with limit breaks for boosts and an Odin summon, IGN reported. He also wields his Buster Sword. Best of all, there is even a scene that shows off his alternate costume.

In the trailer, Cloud gets into the ring to fight off a couple of the current "Super Smash Bros" fighters. Cloud is also introduced with a new stage for "Super Smash Bros" and from the looks of it, the stage will be one that features the city of Midgar.

The trailer is interesting to watch in that Cloud's rather serious character gets into the colorful world of "Super Smash Bros" complete with all of its moves and fight sequences. At the end, there is even a hint of Chocobo costumes.

The announcement did not, however, reveal that Cloud Strife was the winner of the Smash Fighter Ballot. What is interesting is that this is not the last bit of news that fans will hear for "Super Smash Bros," DualShockers reported. It appears that sometime in December, Nintendo planning to announce even more information about the game.

There are no specifics as to what the company will be airing, but there is mention that the special broadcast will only be tackling "Super Smash Bros."

The introduction of Cloud into "Super Smash Bros." got a mixed reception from fans. While it is undoubtedly one of the popular characters in the franchise, some fans felt that he is not a Nintendo character. "Final Fantasy VII" did not come out on a Nintendo platform, but went to straight to a PlayStation platform.

There are even speculations now that Cloud' joining the roster may be a hint of a "Final Fantasy VII" remake that will finally come to the Nintendo platform. Hopefully, Nintendo will answer more in the special broadcast in December.
