Here is some good news for the Moto X Pure Edition users and the Moto X  2nd Gen users. According to reports, there is an update to Android Marshmallow, and it is rolling out in particular regions. The Moto X Style will start getting the OTA update to Android M in India and Brazil. After that, the Moto X 2nd Gen update will be hitting owners' devices in Brazil.

Reports also suggest that Moto Turbo, Moto MAXX, DROID Turbo, Moto G 2014 edition and Moto G 3rd Gen will get the Android Marshmallow update.

Android upgrades can be very slow.  Some of the newer Android smartphones often do not get the upgrades till the starting of the year after the rollout starts in the previous fall. There is not any given chart showing what device will get it when from any company, and this includes LG, HTC, Sony and Samsung.  Once the rollout does become available, it can frequently differ from carriers to carriers, like T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.

it is expected that the Android Marshmallow update will arrive on the Moto G 3rd Generation in November and the Moto G 2nd Generation in December.

According to Neurogadget, the original Moto X, Moto E series and the original Moto G (2013 edition) will not get the Android Marshmallow update.
