Devices like Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy Edge, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus will receive the Android Marshmallow update within the first quarter of next year.

Other devices which are included in the confirmed list are Samsung Galaxy Tab S, Samsung Galaxy S5, and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. These devices will receive this update in the second quarter of next year, along with Samsung Galaxy S4.

The list also includes Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos, Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, and Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A. The time frame for the update's roll out for these devices is yet to be announced.

Other Samsung devices are still running on Android Lollipop 5.0 or Android Lollipop 5.1.1. They may or may not get the Android Marshmallow update anytime soon. Many of the above mentioned devices are also eligible to be upgraded to Android Marshmallow via the custom ROM method.

The users will need to flash their ROM, delete all the data and install the update through the recovery mode. For others, the update will be made available through the OTA roll out.

Android Marshmallow will enhance the battery life of the phone and also increase the usability of the device, according to BGR.
