Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" were recently shocked to find out that Caroline (Candice Accola-King) is pregnant.
In real life, the actress is also pregnant, and fans were also wondering how the directors and producers of the hit The CW series will finds ways to cover this up on the show.
According to TV Line, it has finally been confirmed that Accola-King's real life pregnancy will also be part of her character's storyline on the show.
Before this shocking twist on the show was revealed, executive producer Julie Plec told the publication that their decision could go both ways.
"I think the decision that we made about how to address and/or not address the pregnancy is very interesting," she said.
Meanwhile, fans of Caroline and "The Vampire Diaries" have mixed reactions about the character's fate.
One fan @Jess wrote, "This show is not all that great about dealing with consent issues, but this surrogacy things is squicky on a whole new level. It wasn't a great twist.
Another fan @I think it is a good twist till this point, I'm still vague about it cause they need to reveal how she'll carry them out because they didn't grow for 6 months now and she'll keep being a vampire."
@autumnd23 wrote, "I don't mind twists if there is a logical build up to that twist like Bad Wolf in Doctor Who. This one feels like they pulled it out of nowhere to deal with the pregnancy. Why not just keep Caroline covered up like so many shows have before?"
