Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Inc. could be launching its latest Redmi Note 2 Pro phablet anytime soon, after the device recently passed through China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) website.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro smartphone was leaked in late October, suggesting the new phone will sport a metal back casing along with a fingerprint sensor placed below the camera and the LED flash.

The Redmi Note 2 Pro weighs about 165 grams and measures 149.98 × 75.96 × 8.75 mm in dimensions, according to GSM Arena. In terms of the specs, the phablet is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display screen with a 1080p resolution (FHD).

The handset is rumored to have a 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 5 megapixel shooter on the front. It is likely to run on the Android Lollipop version operating system along with the MIUI user interface on top, Digital Trends reported.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 2 Pro is anticipated to pack a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 processor, 2GB of RAM, up to 16GB of internal memory storage, and powered by a large 3,060 mAh battery. Rumors claim the Redmi Note 2 Pro phablet will cost around $150 to $170. As of this time, there's still no word on the exact price and availability of the device.

In the meantime, Xiaomi is also expected to launch its much anticipated Mi 5 smartphone before the end of the year, possibly in December. It's possible that the Redmi Note 2 Pro will be unveiled around the same time as the Mi 5, however, nothing has been confirmed yet.
