Taika Waititi's upcoming Marvel Comics film "Thor: Ragnarok" may change the face of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

According to Cinema Blend, an "intangible aspect" had made James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" establish a common ground with Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man," in addition to its blast of character crossovers and cameos. While films in Marvel's Cinematic Universe had men as their villains, "Thor: Ragnarok" is going to change history with a female as primary villain.

It has been reported previously that Waititi's "Thor: Ragnarok" is going to introduce the superheroine Valkyrie in Marvel's Cinematic Universe; however, how she will be used in the story arc is uncertain at this point. Her adversaries in the comic books are Amora the Enchantress and Hela the Queen of the Dead and they might be the likely candidates as villains, as per Birth.Movies.Death.

With Valkyrie and the unspecified villain entering Marvel's Cinematic Universe, it entails that "Thor: Ragnarok" is going to introduce two high-profile women to the fans. In fact, this also addresses the lack of character diversity in the superhero world and Marvel's villain problems.

In addition, Scott Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" cast members are "A-list" actors that Marvel would push a big name actress for the villainess. "Cinderella" star Cate Blanchett was mentioned as a possibility while Alive Eve was also rumored to be up for the role.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will see Chris Hemsworth reprise his role as Thor while Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Thor's wicked brother, Loki. Jaimie Alexander is also set to appear in the film, playing the role of Lady Sif. Mark Ruffalo's the Hulk will also join the film and is assumed to have a battle with the god of thunder.

At the moment, exact details on the film's plot, additional characters, and cast are yet to be revealed. Waititi's "Thor: Ragnarok" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Nov. 3, 2017.
