MacBook Pro 2016 release is still not definite, but grapevine claims that the laptop will be released as early as this month.

Meanwhile, the delayed release of the MacBook Pro gives Microsoft's new tablet-laptop hybrid an advantage in terms of sales. Consumers are already mulling whether to buy the new Microsoft device or to wait for the MacBook Pro 2016 release.

Below is the comparison of the alleged specs of MacBook Pro 2016 against Microsoft Surface Book features.

Screen Display

The Surface Book offers a bigger screen panel of 13.5-inch PixelSense Display with 3,000x2,000 resolution. MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to arrive in 13-inch and 15-inch variants with 2K resolution. Some rumors claimed that the new MacBooks will sport 4K displays.

Processor

Surface Book comes with 6th Generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor and Intel HD graphics 520/NVIDIA GeForce graphics. Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro is also rumored to be powered by Intel's 6th Gen Skylake chips.

Storage

The Surface device has the biggest storage systems in the market with 128/256/512GB/1TB of SSD storage. The device is also equipped with microSD slot. Rumors also claimed that MacBook Pro 2016 will have storage systems of up to 1TB.

Operating System

Microsoft Surface Book runs with the latest Windows 10 that will battle MacBook Pro's OS X El Capitan.

Camera

The new tablet-laptop hybrid from Microsoft packs 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing shooter. MacBook Pro models do not have stellar cameras as Apple do not pay much attention to the shooters of the laptops.

Battery

While the Surface Book boasts up to 12 hours of battery life, the MacBook Pro battery is not specified, but is rumored to definitely improve than the previous model.

Accessories

Surface Book is equipped with detachable keyboard with trackpad and Surface Pen stylus. Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro is rumored to incorporate Force Touch technology in the laptop.
