According to reports, Samsung devices such as Galaxy S3, Galaxy E7, Galaxy Note 3 Neo and Galaxy S5 Active have got the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. Rumors are also doing the rounds that some Samsung devices will get the Android Marshmallow update in the next few weeks.

At present, Galaxy S5 Active users from AT&T are getting an over-the-air update of the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. The update weighs in at 640MB and has its build number as MY47X.G870AUCU2COJ3. The new firmware delivers many bug fixes for the S5 Active together with a feature known as Android for Work.

Currently, the Samsung Galaxy E7 is upgradable to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in Sri Lanka and India, SamMobile reported. The release of an Android version in particular regions normally signifies that an impending release to other regions are in the works. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy E7 can also manually flash the operating system to their handsets using the files available at the SamMobile website.

Furthermore, reports also suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S3 can now be updated to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. However, it would be through a custom ROM installation using Dirty Unicorn firmware, according to Neurogadget.

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo is also slated to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop treatment. The Android upgrade is being distributed in South Korea where owners can download it over-the-air or through Samsung KIES for units with model numbers SM-N750S, SM-N750L and SM-N750K. The OS carries an October 12, 2015 build date and weighs 900MB in size. According to reports, the update will be rolled out throughout the world in the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, according to recent reports, the electronics maker Samsung could start updating a few of its devices to Android Marshmallow in the next few weeks. Improved battery performance, support for Android Pay and Google Now on Tap are some of the key features of Android Marshmallow.
