According to Team Android, the model number listed as H220, which is the Cherry Mobile Android G1 is getting this update in the Philippines. It is also reported that the Android security patch level is dated to be Dec. 1, but the device received the update much earlier than that.

Currently, there is no information about the changes which will come from the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update, but it is safe to assume that it will bring along several bug fixes and stability improvements.

Owners of the OEM devices along with the third party carrier devices will need to wait for a couple of months or so for this update. It is also reported that Google is planning to roll out another version of Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update in the coming few months.

The OEMs will get this another version of the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update instead of the original one. The OEM devices are known to follow this strategy in which they either skip a version of Android update or get their own version of the current Android software.

All in all, this update seems like a minor update with little change involved in the material design of the device. Many changes are however expected from the Android Marshmallow 6.1 update. This update will take some time to be rolled out, and is not expected to hit other devices before early in 2016.
