E-commerce company Amazon has forced users to reset passwords after a possible breach of private information was discovered while the advertisements for the upcoming film "Man in the High Castle" have been removed at the New York City subway.

Amazon has sent emails to a currently unknown number of people and told the users that passwords have been mandatorily changed.

To prove the authenticity of the emails given to Amazon users, the company also gave the same messages through the account message center on the main website and the website dedicated to the consumers from the United Kingdom, according to ZDNet.

While passwords have been reset, Amazon assured users that personal information has not been acquired by third party groups since the preventive measures have already been taken.

Likewise, the popular online retail store noted that the system might have kept the passwords in a way that could have provided hackers with a clear opportunity to steal valuable information.

Security measures have become a priority for Amazon as Black Friday deals would likely send many people ordering items via the e-commerce website. Just last week, Amazon customers were told to activate the two-factor authentication feature to have added protection from hackers.

Meanwhile, some people at the New York City subway have criticized the ads placed at the area to promote Amazon's popular series adaptation of Philip K. Dick's 1962 novel titled "The Man in the High Castle," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Initially, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority supported the ads when the materials were released on Nov. 16 since they were less about supporting a political ideology and more about promoting the aspects of the show "The Man in the High Castle."

The advertisements depicted how the United States would be if the nation lost during the Second World War and were conquered by the Axis Powers, which is the essential idea about the Amazon series. Thus, the ads featured Nazi insignias and the flag of Japan that had a design reminiscent of the Second World War.

Despite this, some of the citizens were outraged at the sight of Nazi symbols on the subway and eventually had the ads removed.

"The Man on the High Castle" debuted back on Jan. 15, 2015 and was granted ten new episodes in which the first fresh episode already premiered on Nov. 20, 2015, Friday.
